This beautiful Sacred Bamboo Percussion comes from the heart of West Java, Indonesia, where it has been played for generations during full moon and harvest ceremonies. Its voice carries the memory of our ancestors and the rhythm of Sundanese culture.

Our maker, Sacred Instruments, learned the art of playing and crafting this drum from elder musicians in his village as a teenager. Since then, he has devoted his life to preserving Sundanese music and creating traditional instruments that embody authenticity and spirit.

This unique drum is made from rare black bamboo and features three bamboo “strings,” including one deep “gong” string that provides a grounding bass tone. Traditionally tuned in D with family chord notes, the tuning can be adjusted by moving the bamboo bridges. The sound is gentle, meditative, and perfectly suited for personal practice, mantra circles, sound healing sessions, or group play with other musicians.

Each drum measures between 50 and 60 cm in length and 12 to 15 cm in diameter. The bamboo has been carefully treated to ensure durability, while maintaining its natural resonance. Every instrument is artisan‑made, one of a kind, and carries the marks of human hands, not perfect, but deeply authentic.

Your Sacred Bamboo Percussion will arrive with a soft carry bag, and for an additional charge, you may choose a waterproof hard case. To help you begin your journey, we will also send instructional videos showing the basics of how to play. The kit is intuitive and easy to learn, inviting you into the meditative flow of Sundanese rhythm.
